Roma vs Chelsea Preview:
Probable starting lineups:
Alisson; Bruno Peres, Juan Jesus, Fazio, Kolarov; De Rossi, Strootman, Nainggolan; Florenzi, Perotti, Dzeko
Courtois; Cahill, Luiz, Azpilicueta; Zappacosta, Fabregas, Bakayoko, Alonso; Pedro, Hazard, Morata
Roma are on the second place in Group C with five points from the first three rounds. They managed to beat Qarabag, while shared the points with Atletico Madrid at home and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Roma are on an excellent run of form in domestic Serie A. The Giallorossi have won the last three league matches and the atmosphere in the squad is good. All three victories were narrow, but the fact they kept three clean sheets must be respected. Roma have beaten Torino, Crotone and Bologna with 1:0 and will be looking for their fourth consecutive win in order to move top of the group. Goalkeeper Alisson is in excellent form and his confidence is very high. However, coach Eusebio Di Francesco has some issues ahead of this match. First of all, key centre-back Kostas Manolas is struggling with injury. Juan Jesus and Fazio should start in the heart of the defense, however Manolas' absence is a huge handicap. Emerson Palmieri and Rick Karsdorp are sidelined, while few more players are rated as doubtful - Patrik Schick, Gregoire Defrel, Kevin Strootman and Stephan El Shaarawy.
Chelsea started their European campaign with a brilliant 6:0 win over Qarabag at Stamford Bridge. They continued that was and beat Atletico in Madrid in the second round, but then dropped two points against Roma in the last round playing only a 3:3 draw in London. The actual form is solid, the Blues are in series of three victories in domestic competitions. On Saturday they beat Bournemouth with 1:0. The only goal was scored by Eden Hazard. The Belgian striker is in excellent form, but Alvaro Morata should also be mentioned - the Spaniard has been involved in nine goals (six goals and three assists) in his nine Premier League games this season. Manager Antonio Conte could finally be satisfied with the form of his key players. In addition, two of his midfielders have recovered - N’Golo Kante is back in contention from a hamstring injury, while Danny Drinkwater is back from a calf injury. That means Conte will be missing only Victor Moses due to a hamstring problem suffered against Crystal Palace two weeks ago.
Roma vs Chelsea Prediction:
Roma play at home and they will surely try to win this match. I am not sure if they are able to win, but scoring at least one goal at Olimpico should not be a problem. The Giallorossi have scored in all but two of their 13 official matches this season. Chelsea, meanwhile, could qualify for the knockout stage in case they get three points here. The Blues are the second most efficient side in the Champions League with 11 goals, only PSG (12) have scored more. I expect goals from both sides.
Roma vs Chelsea Pick: Both teams to score - Yes
