Verona vs Inter Preview:
Probable starting lineups:
Nicolas; Fares, Heurtaux, Caracciolo, Souprayen; Bessa, Fossati, Romulo; Verde; Cerci, Pazzini
Handanovic; D'Ambrosio, Skriniar, Miranda, Nagatomo; Gagliardini, Vecino; Candreva, Borja Valero, Perisic; Icardi
Verona have only six points after the first 10 rounds and they sit in the relegation zone. The situation is very complicate and the fans are disappointed. Coach Fabio Pecchia is under big pressure, as well as the players. The actual form is poor, Mastini are in series of two defeats. Last weekend they lost 3:2 to city rivals Chievo in Derby della Scala. Verona had an advantage following Daniele Verde's early goal, but then Bruno Zuculini spoiled everything. He gave away a free kick from which Roberto Inglese equalized and then tripped Perparim Hetemaj for a penalty that Inglese also converted. Even worse, Zuculini was sent off and his teammates were unable to get something from that match. On Wednesday Verona lost 3:0 to Atalanta in Bergamo and I am sure the players confidence is low. For this match Pecchia has Zuculini back after the midfielder served the one-match suspension, but four players are struggling with injury - Riccardo Brosco, Matteo Bianchetti, Alex Ferrari and Mattia Valoti.
Inter play an excellent season so far. The Nerazzurri have 26 points after 10 rounds, two less than the leaders Napoli. Coach Luciano Spalletti is doing a great job and the fans are satisfied. Even the Chinese owners are - director Steven Zhang has hailed Spalletti’s work as coach and believes his team deserve to return to Europe. The actual form is good, Inter have four victories and just one draw on the last five matches in Serie A. On Tuesday they beat Sampdoria with 3:2. Mauro Icardi was the player of the match after scored a brace. The Argentinian forward is in devastating form and has scored 11 goals so far. But another player should also be mentioned - Ivan Perisic. The Croatian midfielder has three goals and five assists. According to the experts, he is the 'alpha and omega' in the team. Coach Spalletti has no reason to change something as the team played well in the recent period. Marcelo Brozovic is expected to return after has recovered from injury, but most probably he wont star from the first minute.
Verona vs Inter Prediction:
Verona are in deep crisis and coach Fabio Pecchia is under big pressure, as well as the players. It will be very hard for them to get something from this match. The Gialloblu have scored just six goals so far and I don't expect to improve the record against one of the strongest defenses in Serie A. Inter are unbeaten on road, however three of their last four away matches have finished with Under 2.5 goals. I expect a low scoring match at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
Verona vs Inter Pick: Under 3.0 goals
